Joyeuse Paques

Happy Easter!

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.

Welcome To My Home...

The foyer is such an important part of the home. If you believe in feng shui, then you know it has to be a calm space where energy (and good fortune) can flow in and out.
I have strong ideas of what I DON'T want my foyer to look like...grand, intimidating, etc....but I'm not sure what I DO want. The above is nice...calm, pretty, welcoming...or maybe this....

I love the door color, the floors, the furnishings...they all read calm, relaxing and welcoming.

I've poured though magazines and idea books, but I'm still looking. Any ideas???

Until this evening...

Good Night Sleep Tight

I'm late posting today...between baseball practices for Matty, knee rehab for Gabby, and many other errands, I thought I might just wait "until tomorrow"...but then I drove Matt out to the farm to play basketball with some friends (there is a basketball gym at the farm...more to come on that)...and I suddenly had the urge to daydream some more on what the house would look like...

Yesterday we left off with teen rooms for Gabby...I need to add one more...

I love the gray wall, the mirrors, the trundle which is perfect for sleepovers...

But now, on to the master bedroom:

I posted this one the other day...I love everything about it from the neutral palette to the fireplace to the adjoining library...perfect...

This Roche-bobois room is perfection! I love the floors...the neutral palette with a pop of color in the rug and chair....and the statement chandelier....I wouldn't want to leave...

This one is airy and light and classic....I love the stripe in the chair....

This hits the mark, too...love the chandelier...love the turquoise and gray, love the dresser...oh my...

more cozy perfection (another great chandelier!)...
more Roche-bobois loveliness...

The ceiling and bed are fabulous!...
maybe my favorite...the walls, the tile floors, the doors leading to the porch, the light....

I can see myself going to sleep and waking up happily in any of these gorgeous rooms...

Tomorrow is foyer day...so just a little preview...

I would love to greet anyone in here...

Until tomorrow....

What A (Teenage) Girl Wants...

Yesterday I was imagining what the different spaces in the new house might look like...I included my son's room, but not daughter, Gabby. So today is all about cool, creative spaces for teenage girls...

I love the eclecticness of this room, the pops of color and textures...the cool brick wall...

Ok, so maybe this room would be more about me than gabby:)...

this one too...more me than she...

Ok, this is more like it...the rug, the orange..this is definitely a Gabby room...

and so is this...the zebra print, the pictures, the boldness...it all reads Gabrielle...

this one too...the rug, wall design, colors...and finally...

cozy, chic and a little classic...

I think she could be happy in any of these rooms...

And next, the master bedroom...

Until tomorrow...

I Want it to Look Like This...

Back from a weekend at the beach. We were there to watch my son, Matt, play baseball, but there was plenty of time to pour through magazines and daydream about what la maison might look like. I'm still trying to find pictures that evoke the feeling that I want my home to have, so...

I love the neutral colors and interesting textures in these rooms...

and the calm, elegant, sophisticated...yet simple decor....

I could definitely work at this desk...

and I can see Matt living happily in this masculine room...

I think I'm starting to get a feel for what it will look like....

Until tomorrow...

Fashion Break

I'm taking a break today from talk about home-building...and talking a little about fashion. If you've followed the Fall collections in Paris, you know there have been some spectacular shows. My favorite by far was the Louis Vuitton show. I'm long past my runway days, but this is the type of show I loved to walk in...full of drama and mystery...but mainly full of stunning clothes.

The coats and bags were so rich and elegant...
The shoes were feminine and lovely...
And to top it off, the amazing Kate Moss walked in a beautiful, sheer, embroidered dress that almost floated...
This coat was one of my favorites, along with the ones that had touches of sparkle at the bottom....

This dress was amazing...the shawl collar was so striking...

I'm not a pantsuit girl, but this would make me change my mind...

And my favorite piece....This jacket is so perfect!

Marc Jacobs has outdone himself. This collection makes me wish for a little more winter....ok, maybe not, but it is all about what fall/winter clothes should be...

Off to Hilton Head and Savannah for my son's baseball tournament this weekend. I'm taking my camera along and hoping to come back with some home ideas...

Until Monday...
